Dourhu
After
living in England
for a number of years

due to Doug's
employment. We returned to our birthplace
Scotland in 1989

Stopping off, on the way, for about 3 years,
at a little
place near
Kidderminster in the West
Midlands called
HURTLE TOP

(
pictured left
with pool and
all )
below

We had
the whitest
Geese in the
land
as they were in
the Pool
more often than
we were
Moving on ever
Northwards
together
with Ruth's recently acquired Menagerie consisting of
6 Papillons,
a Border Collie, a Belgian
Shepherd Dog,
3 cats,
2 Angora &
2 Golden Guernsey goats and a variety of ducks, geese,
turkeys & chickens.

To
pursue a completely different lifestyle

Trying to make a
living in the above fashion ~ totally consumed our lives for
a few years, and
that, together with the devastating loss
of
' Desperado '
at a young age, forced
us, to retire from the
" Dog
Show Scene "

Below
are a couple of our faithful 'working'
friends and companions

pictured
left is our very first Belgian
Shepherd Dog
(Tervueren) Woodlyn
Apache Tears

and the
picture on the right is
our
faithful Border Collie ~
GEMMA with

'
lead train '
our 5 month old
Anatolian
Shepherd Dog ~
ELSA

Gemma worked our
small
flock of
North Country
Cheviots
with which we won
prizes
at the Pure
Bred
Sheep Shows in
Dingwall
&
Thurso
Exhibiting Sheep
creates a whole new perspective
on
keeping
" Male
underbellies " clean !
Although we
enjoyed our spell following
in the footsteps
of our Grand - parents
in the area
we both grew up in, and even
claiming the
accolade of being invited
to exhibit our
PRIZE
WINNING Rare
Breeds of Poultry at
The
Royal Highland Show at
Ingliston, Edinburgh.

This is not a
Rare Breed but he is the only ' Bird '
that Doug could
get to pose for the camera
For all
that ~ we
always missed the Papillons and the
many good
friends associated with them
GOOD
HEALTH to the friends we've
already met and
CHEERS
to the ones we don't know yet

Having now
reached the age of '' The Bus Pass ''

and no
longer " work " for a living ~ it
didn't take much to
rekindle
our love for the little " Butterflies "
However, it did
require a lot of help from our friends to revive the
Dourhu bloodlines
We consider
ourselves fortunate to have acquired a small family who
are mostly
related, within a few generations, to past
Dourhu Champions
"
Distinction
"
" Domino "
" Desperado "
